Abad welcomes operation against 'land Mafia'
KARACHI (July 13 2010): Association of Builders & Developers of Pakistan (Abad) on Monday hailed the announcement of Sindh government about the operation against the land Mafia and the Qabza groups. In a statement issued here, the association said a committee comprising Abad and the three allies has been set up to oversee the operation.
Abad Vice Chairman Muhammad Arif Siddiqi and Regional Chairman Saleem Kassim said it is encouraging to note that coalition government of Pakistan Peoples Party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Awami National Party, under the leadership of Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat ul Ebad Khan and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, took a unanimous decision of an impartial crackdown against land Mafia and Qabza groups in order to get the encroached lands vacated. This action on the part of the government will reactivate the economy, which will have positive impact on the province. They said Abad, in a meeting held on July 6, 2010, has brought to the government notice the issues concerning the activities of land Mafia and the Qabza groups on the private land belonging to members of Abad. They said if their proposals are implemented in letter and spirit, the construction activities in Karachi will pick up thus providing employment opportunities to people of Karachi.-PR |
