LHC dismisses plea of power purchase from China

LAHORE: Lahore High Court on Tuesday dismissed petition pertaining to purchase of electricity from China on reasonable prices, Geo News reported.

The court while dismissing the petition filed by Advocate Ilm-ud-Din, stated that the court has no right to interfere in policy matters.

The petitioner had pleaded the court to direct the government for buying electricity as offered by China instead of generating it through expensive means including Rental Power Plants. He had mentioned in the petition that China had extended offer to Pakistan for supplying power at Rs500 per house, and Rs3000 per industrial unit.

The court after hearing dismissed the petition.
