Petrol pump plots to be auctioned to OMCs: CDA
Petrol pump plots to be auctioned to OMCs: CDA
ISLAMABAD: The Spokesman of Capital Development Authority (CDA) has clarified news item published in print media on Monday November 21, 2011 indicating unfair bidding process for allotment of Filling station sites . According to a press release news highlighted the point of view of the dealers, CDA spokesman and the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs). OMCs welcomed the decision of CDA board to restrict the invitation of application to the OMCs. The reason behind that restriction was CDAs past experience in allotment of plot at Embassy road and the said plot is in litigation and due to that CDA has incurred the multiple losses. The Spokesman said that as almost 132 plots are already operated in Islamabad and out of 132 plots only few plots are company operated and many plots are still vacant as they were allotted to a private party. As these plots were meant to be for filling station and for the Capital city it is necessary to provide quality services to the citizens of Islamabad as OGRA cancelled many dealerships by not assuring quality. Keeping this thing in mind CDA has invited the OMCs to apply for these plots and operate it by their own in order to provide quality services to the citizens of Islamabad. He further said that all the OMCs are offered to submit their Prequalification documents and after the evaluation the short-listed firms will be invited to participate in open hue and cry bid process. Before bidding process a reserve price would be fixed by the finance wing on the basis of previously auctioned plots, CDA always reserved the right to reject the bid which doesnt meet the reserve price, he added. The Spokesman pointed out that CDA follows all the regulations chalked out in Land Disposal rules of CDA, by seeing the overwhelmed response to the advertisement it is evident that OMCs welcomed this investment opportunity and willing to invest in Islamabad. |
