Aashiyana Housing Scheme: chief minister Punjab hands over keys to deserving families
Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Monday handed over keys of the houses to the deserving families in Aashiyana Housing Scheme, Saroba Attari. Addressing the gathering Shahbaz said that for the first time in the history of the country the families of martyrs, widows and common man have been provided with such residential facilities at affordable prices through this scheme. Provincial Minister Iqbal Channar, members of national and provincial assembly, vice chancellors of various universities, vice chairman Punjab educational endowment fund, former chief justice Lahore High Court, commissioner Lahore and a large number of people were present. The chief minister said Pakistan Muslim League-N has provided shelter to the poor and low-income people through Aashiyana Housing Scheme, and houses equipped with most modern facilities have been given to common citizens at very reasonable rate. He said Aashiyana Housing Schemes have also been started in other cities of the province on the pattern of Lahore to provide shelter to thousands of shelterless people. "I will continue to serve the masses and make Pakistan a strong and prosperous country," he said. Addressing the function Chairman Punjab Land Development Company, Sheikh Alauddin said that the dream of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif of providing houses to the shelter-less has now become a reality. He said work was in progress on Aashiyana housing schemes in various cities of Punjab and modern houses will be provided to widows, destitute persons, labourers and families of martyrs in these schemes. He said that sports, education, health and other basic amenities were being provided in these colonies. He said that more land had been acquired in Saroba Attari, on which 3,000 more houses to be constructed. Vice Chairman Punjab Educational Endowment Fund, Dr Amjad Saqib said that as the member of scrutiny committee, he has had the opportunity to monitor the entire scheme and was confident that houses have been allotted in Aashiyana housing scheme in a transparent manner. Former justice Aamir Raza Khan also spoke on the occasion. |
