17% tax revenue increase achieved in last six months

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh said 17 percent tax revenue increase was achieved during last six months. Briefing parliamentarians on national economy, he said despite devastating floods, soaring oil prices and security situation, foreign exchange reserves touched highest figure in the country’s history. He said inflation was now on single digit while exports increased by 4 percent indicating increasing activity in economic and commercial sectors.
