Islamabad : Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation Land Scam – Senate body recommends action against officials involved

Islamabad (Daily TheNews / Tuesday, October 2, 2012) Senate Standing Committee on Housing and Works on Monday recommended the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to take legal action against officials involved in the 3,153 kanal land scam of Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation’s (FGEHF).
Addressing the press conference after meeting, Chairman Standing Committee Shahi Syed said that the committee had indicated Rs1.567 billion embezzlement occurred in the housing foundation’s project.

He said that Rs 11 billion housing project was planned without obtaining No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Capital Development Authority. The committee directed NAB to initiate legal action against the members of executive committee and M/s Green Tree for intentionally and deliberately violating all rules, regulations and procedure by misusing of official authority merely to gain personal interests and caused billions of huge loss to public exchequer.
