PHA resumes work on Kurri Housing Scheme
ISLAMABAD – Construction work on a housing project of Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA), namely Kurri Housing Scheme, has been restarted after a gap of four months.
According to sources, Project Director, Farooq Azam has said that work on the plan has been restored as a result of the efforts made by Secretary Housing and Construction, Kamran Lashari, Managing Director PHA, Nasar Hayat and the chief commissioner of Islamabad. Farooq Azam further said that work on the housing scheme was stopped as the affectees opposed the project. It merits mentioning here that the scheme has been planned for government officers from grade-20 to 22. It covers an area of 90 acres. About 588 houses will be constructed in the housing scheme. Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani laid foundation of the project in March 2012. The infrastructure development work bearing a cost of Rs 580 million will be completed within 18 months. |
