Jawad Paul tells CDA to speed up development work
Chief Commissioner Islamabad Jawad Paul on Thursday directed Capital Development Authority (CDA) to expedite work on development projects of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration being executed by the CDA to ensure their timely completion.
The Chief Commissioner issued the directives while chairing a meeting to review the progress of development projects and also addressed issues being faced in their implementation. CDA Project Director Ayaz Khan, while briefing the participants on the progress said that the construction of IG Block in ICT Administration Block premises in Sector G-11/4 is underway and its structure is 50 per cent complete. He said that Rs 30 million has been spent on the project so far and revised PC-1 is under process. "It will be completed in February 2014 and office of the Inspector General Islamabad would be shifted there as Rs 10 million is available during this year," he added. The participants were informed that 72 per cent construction work on 15 houses for SPs in Sector H-11 has been completed. Similarly, construction work on Tarnol Police Station at a cost of Rs 7,78,210 has been completed. Work progress on the construction of 4 police barracks in Sectors G-9 and G-10, built at a cost of Rs 80.871 million was also reviewed. Work on Sector G-9 barracks was 90 per cent complete whereas Sector G-10 barracks have been completed and handed over to the police. The project was approved at a cost of Rs. 90.59 million and revised PC-1 of the project was under process to complete remaining work in September. Similarly, construction of two police barracks in Sector H-11 and MT Shed has been completed. PC-1 of the project was approved at Rs 62.152 million. Construction of boundary wall of police line in Sector H-11 has also been completed. Construction of watch tower is 85 per cent complete while construction of eight gates of boundary wall are complete and remaining civil work will be completed by September. PC-1 of the project was approved at Rs 117.50 million. However, installation of security cameras and electric work is yet to be completed.
