by Shakeel Anjum
The ‘Red Zone’ has been separated administratively, said sources in the Chief Commissioner office here on Saturday. The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) has been divided into two administrative parts - East and West Division - to introduce better administration. Chief Commissioner Islamabad Kamran Lashari, issuing the notification in this regard, has appointed an 18-grade officer Malik Muhammad Afsar as Additional Deputy Commissioner (East) while the post of ADC (West) is yet to be decided, the sources said. Malik Afsar was serving as assistant commissioner (city). Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rana Akbar Hayat would remain as ADC (G) and would supervise East and West Divisions, enjoying the powers of Additional District Magistrate too, the sources maintained. The East Division will comprise of two sub-divisions - Rural and Secretariat - while Saddar and City sub divisions have been separated as West Division. Meanwhile, the Chief Commissioner, filling up the vacant offices of the ICT Administration, promoted Malik Farasat Ali and appointed him as AC (City) while AC (City) Marryam has been transferred as AC (Saddar). The sources told ‘The News’ that a new sub-division would be created in ICT administration, adding that Saddar Sub Division would be divided into two parts. Consequently, the West Division would comprise of three sub-divisions after the establishment of new sub-division. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=141925 |
