North Johar Town and South Tajpura Handed Over to LWSC
Under the new water supply paradigms, North Johar Town and South Tajpura have been transferred to Lahore Water and Sanitation Company (LWSC), a subsidiary of Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa).
According to a news source, the LWSC will be operational after recruitment of required staff. The firm, in collaboration with Wasa, would undertake four pilot project worth Rs 1.6 billion. Under the approved plan, LWSC and Wasa will install bottled water plants and water filtration plants. Furthermore, overhead water reservoirs will also be built at various places to ensure continuous supply of water. Wasa Deputy Managing Director Mr Aftab Dhiloon told reporters that the legal formalities had been completed prior to the launch of projects. The formalities included advertising as well as bidding of required mechanical and civil works. |
