Rawalpindi: Work on expressway ‘to start soon’

The construction work on the Elevated Expressway will be started soon after the completion of the feasibility study and designing of the project that will take some two months, told Makeen Shehbaz, director general of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), to ‘The News’ on Tuesday.

He said that the task of the study and designing work has been assigned to the consultant of Nespak.

The RDA would submit a summary to the Punjab government for its approval. He assured that as soon as the study and designing work is approved, the RDA would initiate work on the project.

“Our job is to implement the work which is possible only after release of the required funds,” he said while responding a query.

The nine-kilometre flyover would be constructed from Mall Road to Faizabad.
