Karachi: Dug-up roads in DHA to be filled up by June

The reconstruction of dug-up roads in DHA will be completed by June 3, DHA Administrator Brig. Khalid Tirmizi said on Tuesday. He was speaking with a delegation of the Association of Defence Residents (ADR), which called on Brig. Tirmizi at his office.

DHA Special Projects Director Brig. (retd) Iftikhar Haider told the ADR delegation that 16 contracts pertaining to road repairs and reconstruction projects had been awarded. He added that the reconstruction of Khayaban-e-Shamsheer, E-Street and Khayaban-e-Badar was in full swing and would be completed soon.

Brig. Tirmizi said the DHA was installing surveillance cameras and security gadgets in the area and negotiating with various private security agencies to work out a viable security plan for the DHA.

Brig Tirmizi assured the ADR delegation that the DHA was exerting pressure and influence on all stakeholders of the DHA Cogen Power and Desalination Plant to ensure that repair work of the plant was completed at the earliest.
