Investigators link Al Qaeda to Mumbai attack
LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has revealed the terror attacks in Mumbai last November were planned by an international terrorist network, including a Bangladesh-based group with ties to Al Qaeda. According to a report published in The Times, Pakistani investigators have said there is strong evidence that the Harkatul Jihadal Islami was actively involved in the 60-hour siege that resulted in the deaths of over 170 people, adding that the attack was conducted by the Lashkar-e-Tayyaba. The top and mid-level leadership of Lashkar-e-Tayyaba, including Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi and Zarrar Shah, were arrested by Islamabad last month. Indian investigators have alleged that both were involved in organising the terrorist attack. daily times monitor http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp...009_pg7_20 |
