Monday, April 13, 2009
Karachi Sindh Local Government (LG) Minister Agha Siraj Durrani has constituted a committee to remove encroachments and to continue the development process on the lands of the Lyari Development Authority (LDA). He issued these directives during a meeting after a detailed visit on Sunday to the LDA Scheme 42. The meeting was attended by MNA Qadir Patel, MPA Nadeem Bhutto, Union Council (UC) Nazim Mubarak Singho Baloch, Additional LG Chief Secretary Ghulam Ali Shah Pasha, LDA Director General Aga Maqsood Abbas and other officials. Durrani directed LDA officials not to budge under any pressure regarding the removal of encroachments. He nominated Patel as the convener, and Bhutto, Baloch, and Abbas as members of the committee. The committee will present its recommendations to the minister. He directed the LDA officials regarding the expansion of the Hawkesbay Road, supervised the removal of encroachments on government land at Hawkesbay, and also directed the LDA and the police to take action against land-grabbers. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=172133 |
