Rs761 million allocated for 7th Avenue underpass
Sunday, June 07, 2009
Islamabad The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Saturday revised the cost of an underpass at 7th Avenue to Rs761.960 million as the project is likely to be launched shortly. The decision to this effect was taken in CDA’s Development Working Party meeting held under the chair of CDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood Khan and attended by authority’s board members. The underpass would link Kashmir Highway with the Avenue while passing beneath the Khayaban-e-Suharwardy as was insisted by the public. The importance of the project was multiplied after the road was blocked owing to the security of the headquarters of an intelligence agency and the traffic was diverted from the said road to the Kashmir Highway. According to the CDA spokesperson, the DWP meeting also discussed number of development projects worth Rs902.534 million and gave their approval. The projects include construction of canine centre in sector H-11/3 worth Rs45.848 million, construction of RCC protection wall along J. Salik Colony in sector G-8/1 (Rs21.109 million), construction of 12 kitchens in A&B type government quarters in CDA colony (Rs17.540 million). http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=181762 |
