CDA warns residents against injudicious use of water
ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Friday warned residents of the federal capital to stop non-judicious use of water. The authority organised a seminar on ‘Water is Life’ at FG College for Women G-10/4, in connection with the ongoing 60-day long awareness drive on water conservation starting from November 15 in collaboration with UNDP and Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources. CDA Water Management Director General Sanaullah Aman was the chief guest at the seminar. He emphasised the need to conserve water and said water resources in the capital were depleting fast. College Principal Rehana Shabbbir praised the CDA and the PCRWR for holding such awareness activities as this seminar. Meanwhile, Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Imtiaz Inayat Elahi on Friday directed contractor to expedite work on Zero Point Interchange to ensure opening of two slip roads for traffic by November 25. In a meeting, the CDA chief directed Member Engineering Abdul Jabbar Melano and the project director to take effective steps to accomplish work on the portion of the project to maintain smooth flow of traffic. He said timely opening of two slip roads would facilitate the traffic plying from Islamabad Highway and Peshawar Mor and Peshawar Mor to Faisal Avenue. The chairman directed the Engineering Wing to resolve the problem confronting traffic moving from Faisal Avenue to Sector G-8. In this regard, he was informed that a roundabout was going to be constructed in front of service road (east) of Sector G-8. app
