Qureshi's in-flight meeting with Nawaz Sharif

LAHORE - Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood happened to have meeting with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in a flight that brought the two leaders to Pakistan on Sunday morning.
The minister told reporters that he apprised the PML-N chief about the talks he held with the US authorities, as well as the cooperation the two countries would be extending to each other in various disciplines.
Mr Qureshi said he further told him that there should be national consensus on various issues, including relations with India, Afghanistan, nuclear policy and terrorism.
He said Pakistan would be better placed to present its point of view at the international level in the presence of a national consensus.
He appreciated Mr Sharif’s response to his views. He said he would take all opposition parties into confidence.The foreign minister told a questioner that democracy would have a bright future in Pakistan.
He said President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had told him that they had an ideological bias for democracy.
