New bus service to be launched in capital

Islamabad—In order to provide better travelling facilities to the commuters Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to launch a new bus service run on diesel on different routes in the federal capital at subsidized fare.

CDA sources said that owing to grave shortage of gas the project of CNG-fitted buses has been shelved and project of running buses on diesel would be launched in order to provide better commuting facilities at subsidise fares.

Sources said the bus service would have separate portions for male and female commuters, adding that commuters would have to pay Rs8 fare instead of being charged Rs20 by public transport.

Sources added that diesel buses project would is being materalised on private partnership and primarily paper work of the project will be initiated next month, and hoped the project would be launched this year definitely.
