Gawadar port can steer country out of economic troubles: Rana
MULTAN, Dec 17 (APP): MNA and chairman standing committee on Ports and Shipping in National Assembly, Rana Mehmoodul Hassan said on Wednesday that trade through Gawadar port can steer the country out of economic troubles adding the port would prove to be a goldmine for the country in near future.
In a meeting with a delegation of industrialists here, MNA said that Pakistan can be out of economic miseries by virtue of full‑fledged operation of Gawadar port. He said, it is heartening that first phase of the project has been completed. This project had faced hurdles in past due to political differences and certain circumstances but work on it was in progress now, he added. He also expressed concerns over the advertisements being made by many estate agencies and property dealers regarding potentially bogus residential schemes, commercial plazas, plots, flats and offices in Gawadar to fleece the people. In past, many fraudsters have deprived people of their hard earned savings worth millions of rupees through bogus schemes, he said, and urged the federal government to check whether schemes being advertised these days exist in Gawadar or not, says a release. He said that after checking process, advertisements of schemes found to be bogus should be stopped and companies behind these schemes should face punitive action. APP |
