NADRA increases salaries up to 25 percent

KARACHI: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced an increase up to 25 percent on monthly emoluments and salaries of its employees.

According to a statement issued here on Monday, NADRA Chairman Ali Arshad Hakeem has issued a notification giving 25 percent increase to lower grade employees, 15 percent increase to middle management and 10 percent increase to higher-level management. These would come into effect from May 1, 2009. This is NADRA’s highest-ever increase in the salaries of its lower cadre staffs.

Despite the current financial crisis, the decision to raise the salaries has been taken so that employees could be safeguarded against price-hike and inflation while maximum relief is being given to lower grade employees, the statement said.
