Islamabad: Impounded vehicles to be auctioned
Islamabad: All vehicles impounded under Section 550 of the Pakistan Penal Code would be auctioned after completing necessary formalities, the spokesman for the deputy commissioner’s office said on Thursday.
The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting between the ICT administration and Islamabad Traffic Police under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed. SSP (Islamabad) Tahir Alam Khan and other officials attended the meeting. The deputy commissioner said that 293 vehicles impounded under Section 550 of the PPC since 1991-1992 were lying in various police stations. It was decided that those impounded vehicles whose cases have been decided will be shifted from police stations to the Anti-Car Lifting Cell and Rural Development Markaz in Tarlai. These vehicles will be auctioned after completing necessary formalities. The cases of properties pending for disposal since 1991-1992 will also be disposed of after completing necessary formalities. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=201176 |
