30 schemes for Hyderabad uplift completed,

HYDERABAD, Jan 28: Several developments schemes with the patronage of both federal and provincial governments are underway in the city and its division, while more on the anvil, according to the Commissioner of Hyderabad Division.

Talking to a team of government officials of mid-career management course, Ahmed Bux Narejo said the government is concentrating on installing filter plants, he said and further informed them that some 30 schemes under the Hyderabad Development Package were complete with work progressing rapidly on one scheme. These schemes included rehabilitation of drainage system, construction and repairs of roads and building of hospitals, schools, flyovers and an underpass, he said.

There are many low lying areas on which the government spent huge amount and heavy machinery to drain out rain water but these problems would be resolved on permanent basis once the drainage system was rehabilitated.

Special attention, he said, was being paid to Site areas of Hyderabad and Kotri since these were the second biggest industrial zones in Sindh, after Karachi. Thousands of people work here.
