LTC to implement master parking plan
Lahore—Lahore Transport Company will implement the master plan of parking in Lahore in collaboration with the Turkish companies. Complete surveys would be conducted to identify new parking sites and comprehensive strategy is being evolved for the efficient and optimum utilization of existing parking spaces in the city.
This was stated by Chairman LTC, Advisor to Chief Minister of Punjab while addressing the Turkish experts in parking sector in Chief Ministers Secretariat here today. Meeting was attended by Director General LDA, DCO Lahore, CEO LTC Kh. Haidar latif, all General Managers of LTC and other officers of various departments. Chairman LTC said that under the dynamic leadership, Government of Punjab is executing grand plan of actions to undertake various projects of urban development in the city. He said that District government, LDA, TEPA, LTC, LWMC have been made effective to play vital role in strengthening the system of urban development sector. He said that in view of massive growth of Lahore, it is obligatory on the part of various departments to play effective role to achieve the objectives set for the provision of relief to the masses. He said that Pakistan and Turkey already had an agreement of US $320m in domain of solid waste management. He said that parking system occupies great significance in the overall traffic and transport system of the city. Further he added that a separate wing would be established in LTC to formulate strategy and overall supervision of parking system in Lahore. He said that transparency and efficiency would be the salient features of new parking system. Chairman LTC has said that LTC is providing facilitation to the private transport companies to strengthened the urban transport sector of Lahore. He said that Lahore Transport Company is playing key role in creating conducive environment for foreign investment companies in the domain of urban transport. He said that keen interest and collaboration of Turkey in the projects of urban development of Punjab shows confidence in the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif. He said that new parking system would have deep impact in improving the traffic and transport sector of the city. |
