High-rise owners told to submit building details
LAHORE: A Supreme Court bench on Thursday while hearing a review petition ordered the owners of high-rise buildings and plazas to file before the court the details of their land’s cost, building’s total area, covered space, parking area, and front road. The court was hearing a petition by owners of different plazas, challenging the LHC judgement against buildings constructed in violation of rules. The bench directed the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) director general to submit the newly made commercialisation rules before the court on the next date of hearing. The court adjourned hearing until next week. The court observed that no one had the right to encroach upon public land, roads and footpaths. “The roads will remain roads; parks will remain parks for larger benefit of the public; the court will not do injustice to any party and give its judgement in the case after hearing all stakeholders,” the court observed. |
