NAB readies to act against 105 societies
Islamabad - The National Accountability Bureau has decided to launch operation against illegal housing societies in the federal capital while the Capital Development Authority has provided the required record to the NAB, The Nation has learnt.
Sources informed this scribe that Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhary ordered NAB prevention committee on CDA to provide the record of illegal housing projects in the Islamabad capital territory. The CDA handed over the list of 105 unregistered housing schemes to NAB. Some of housing societies have even not got the NOC from the CDA. The CDA divided the illegal housing schemes in different zones and zone-IV is on the top of the list with 63 illegal housing societies. According to documents available with The Nation, fifteen illegal housing schemes are mentioned in the list of Zone-II and Zone-III including Green City, Sectors D-17 and E-17, Supreme Court Employees Housing Scheme G-17, Islamabad Cooperative Farming Scheme D-17, Paradise City G-17, Ghulshan–e-Rehman C-17 and D-17, Pakistan Overseas Housing Scheme F-16, Jammu and Kashmir G-15, Services Housing Scheme E-11, Pakistan Town phase-2, F-16, G-18, Federation of Employees Housing scheme E-11, Ali Town, Green Mills, Green Mediaos North Raig, Major Makhdoom Society, Al-Rehan Society and Arcadia City. Sixty-three illegal housing schemes are mentioned in CDA zone-IV including Adil Valley, Samli Dam Road; Mufti Memood Enclave, Lehtrar Road; Ali Model Town; Muslim Town, Samli Dam Road; Al-Syed Avenue, Park Road; Muzzaffarabad Town, Samli Dam Road; Baharia Enclave-1, Kuri Road; New University Town; Park Town; Barma Town, Lehtrar Road; OGDC Town, Murree Road; Park Lane Valley, Park Road; Ghauri Town (all phases in Zone-IV); PTV Colony, Samli Dam Road; Ghauri Gardens, Lehtrar Road; Royal Avenue, Park Road; Green Avenue, Park Town; Royal City/Royal Villas, Lehtrar Road; Green Avenue-2, Kuri Road; Samaa Town, Lehtrar Road; Green Valley (phase 1 and 2), Samli Dam Road; Gulberg Town Housing Scheme Phase-2, Lehtrar Road; Spring Valley, Samli Dam Road; Hameed Town; Kuri Town; Adil Farm, Sami Dam Road; Hill View Houses, Samli Dam Road; Badar Farm, Samli Dam Road; Iqbal Town, Islamabad Expressway; Government Officers Cooperative Farming Scheme; Islamabad Safe Garden, Lehtrar Road; Green Fields, Samli Dam Road; Japan Valley, Lehtrar Road; Islamabad Farms, Samli Dam Road; Kayani Town, Lehtrar Road; J&K Farms, Islamabad Highway; Madina Town, Islamabad Highway; Naval Farms, Samli Dam Road; Marwa Town, Islamabad Highway; Media City, Lehtrar Road; Ittefaq Town, Lehtrar Road; Abdullah Gardens, Kuri Road; Royal Homes, Lehtrar Road; Zahoor Town, Lehtrar Road; Makkah Town, Lehtrar Road; Al-Qamar Town; Margalla Town; Margalla Gardens, Lehtrar Road; City Town, Lehtrar Road; and Osma Town, Lehtrar Road. The CDA declared 27 housing schemes illegal in its zone-V including Gulshan Rabia, Japan Road; Gulshan Rehman, Japan Road; Morghah City, Lehtrar Road; Hamza Town, Kahuta Road; Parliamentarians Enclave, Japan Road; National Cooperative, Kahuta Road; Media Town, Islamabad Expressway; Tele Town, Japan Road; National Police Foundation, Islamabad Expressway; Azam Town, Kahuta Road; Pak PWD, Islamabad Expressway; Danyal Town, Askaria Town, Japan Road; Judicial Employees Housing Scheme, Kirpa Road; Rasheed Town, Japan Road; Bankers Town, Kahuta Road; River View, Kahuta Road; Fatima Villa, GT Road; Television Media Town; Ghulshan-e-Danish, GT Roa;, Alia Town, Lohi Bher; Aiza Garden, Lohi Bheer; and New Model Town, Humak. Talking to the Nation, NAB spokesman Asim Ali Nawazish said the chairman has conveyed the NAB investigation team to show zero tolerance against illegal housing societies in twin cities. He said that NAB had also written to the advertising companies to avoid from advertisements of illegal housing schemes otherwise, they would be ready for action. He appealed to the people not to follow the attractive packages of fake and non-registered housing schemes till completion of NAB investigation. |
