76 Percent Work has been Completed on Lahore Orange Line Metro Train
LAHORE ORANGE LINE METRI TRAIN (OLMT)
LAHORE: More than 76 per cent of civil work besides 26 per cent electrical and mechanical work on Lahore Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) project has been completed including construction of a bridge on Lahore Ring Road where laying of track for the train in progress. This was informed during a weekly progress review meeting on Wednesday. Lahore Commissioner Abdullah Khan Sumbal chaired the review meeting and observed that work on the project was going smoothly and progress so far had been satisfactory for which the whole team deserved credit. National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) General Manager Salman Hafeez informed the meeting that construction projects were fast moving towards completion, with package-I from Dera Gujjaran, G.T.Road to Chouburji being 87 per cent complete and package-II from Choburji to Ali Town being 59 per cent complete. The progress on Depot near Dera Gujran was 81.5 per cent while on Stabling Yard near Ali Town was 78.5 per cent. It was further revealed at the meeting that construction of a 185 meters long bridge on railway tracks near Parachute Colony was now in the final stage. Machinery had also been imported from China for use in case of emergencies and pulling trains to the depot. Deputy Mayor Nazir Khan Sawati, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Chief Engineer Asrar Saeed Khan, Punjab Mass Transit Authority Manager Operations Sayed Ozair Shah, NESPAK General Manager Haseeb Khawaja, representatives of Chinese Engineering Consultant, local contractors of the project and other senior officials of various provincial departments attended the progress review meeting.
