Karachi Building Control Authority forms body for public complaints
The Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) has set up an executive committee and complaint centre to better facilitate citizens. The executive committee was set up on the directives of provincial local government minister and KBCA Chief Executive Agha Siraj Durrani, and would work under KBCA Chief Controller Manzoor Qadir. The committee will listen to complaints lodged by citizens against illegal structures under Sindh Building Control Ordinance 1979 and Karachi Building and Town Planning (KB&TP) Regulation 2002. To facilitate citizens in this regard, KBCA has set up a one-window counter, which would receive complaints of citizens from 9.00am to 1.00pm. Citizens have been requested to file their complaints against illegal structures and other violations of building laws.
