Trade Development Authority plans 4 trade shows in US to promote exports
KARACHI: Trade Development Authority of Pakistan will organise four regional trade shows in the United States with a view to promoting Pakistan’s textile and products.
According to TDAP spokesperson, The Commercial Counsellor of the US Embassy Islamabad William Center had a meeting with TDAP Chief Executive Syed Mohibullah Shah to discuss trade and economic promotion between the two countries. The TDA chief apprised that in order to counter the decline in Pakistani exports to the US market, specially in textile and clothing, TDAP is planning regional trade shows in addition to continue to participate in well-established international exhibitions held in United States. The shows of TDAP are proposed for the east and west coast of the United States as well as midwest and the southern markets in the US. These shows will open new doors and provide access to mid-level chain stores and different sets of consumers to Pakistani exports of textiles and other products including automotive parts, surgical instruments, leather and sports goods, and food and other products of Pakistan. TDAP chief also explained that TDAP was considering to engage an American marketing company to help TDAP in successfully implementing this strategy for opening new avenues for Pakistani exports in the US market. - http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=184615 |
