Faislabad: Online power bill payment made possible by UBL Netbanking
LAHORE: Electricity consumers in Faisalabad are now being offered the convenience to pay their bills online through the UBL Netbanking website and Contact Center. The facility was made possible by an agreement signed recently between United Bank Limited, one of Pakistan’s largest private sector bank and Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO).
In addition to being able to pay their bills through the Web, consumers can also use their mobile phones to avail this facility with UBL Orion mobile banking, while plans are underway to introduce cards in the continuation of this facility. Mr. Ahmad Saeed Akhtar, CEO, FESCO and Mr. Aurangzaib Alamgir, SVP Business Head, E-Commerce Group, UBL signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations at a simple ceremony in Faisalabad. Sharing his insight on the newly launched facility Mr Alamgir said, “It is our foremost priority to provide the local customers with the best facilities and this contract shows our commitment towards achieving that goal.” He further added that the e-billing system would conserve time and overcome the need to wait in long queues for utility bills payments. With the passage of time, internet usage has grown in Pakistan - so has the number of transactions conducted on the Net. Based on this insight, UBL Netbanking, which was introduced four years ago with a set of “first-of-its-kind” features, has seen tremendous success and grown in popularity. The features include inter alia payment of utility and mobile phone bills, obtaining bank account statements, making credit card balance inquiries, transferring payments to any other account and purchasing prepaid vouchers. http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp...009_pg5_11 |
