NWFP govt inaugurates FM Radio Pakhtunkhwa

PESHAWAR: NWFP Minister for Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain inaugurated FM Radio Pakhtunkhwa at the Directorate of Information on Thursday.

The FM radio has started its test transmission and would formally be inaugurated after Eidul Fitr.

Secretary Information Hanif Orakzai, Director Information Shoaibuddin and other information department officials were also present at the inauguration of FM 92.2 Pakhtunkhwa Radio, Directorate of Information. Lauding the efforts of the concerned officials in the launch of the FM radio, Iftikhar said the Pakhtunkhwa Radio would prove to be a messenger of peace and would play an important role in creating awareness among the illiterate people of the province. The information minister said the ANP government was the first government that had the honour of naming a channel after the province’s name. Iftikhar said the province lacked a channel for a long time that could portray its culture. Mian Iftikhar urged the department officials to provide maximum information and entertainment to the people of the province. staff report
