CDA prioritises stalled projects

Capital Development Authority (CDA) has not only revived the work of the stalled projects, which were being neglected since many years but also launched and planned many projects of public welfare in the federal capital to facilitate the public. CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal expressed these views while talking to media during his visit to the National Press Club here on Monday. Member Administration and Estate, Amer Ali Ahmed was also present on this occasion. CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal said that CDA’s present management has prioritised the stalled projects and devised a comprehensive strategy to revive and to complete them. In this connection, completion of 08 kilometres long Kashmir Highway in record time shows CDA’s commitment towards its priorities. He further said that development work on the long awaited Park Enclave Housing Scheme has also been awarded after the approval of PC-I and now the development work on the project has been initiated, which will be completed in a year time. CDA chairman said that in addition to the revival of stalled projects, CDA has decided to launch new public welfare projects by keeping in view the needs of residents of Islamabad and in this context two underground parking plazas are being constructed in Markaz F-7 (Jinnah Super Market) and overhead bridges are being constructed on 9th and 7th Avenue while under passes on the Faisal Avenue will also be constructed in order to facilitate the residents of Sector G-7 and G-8. CDA chairman said that CDA has also planned to make Islamabad Highway, signal free Expressway from Zero Point to Rawat while construction of Margalla Avenue project is also in the pipeline. He said that CDA is not only working to make Islamabad more green but also concentrating to maintain its green character and in this connection special attention has been given to the cleanliness of the city and for this reason spread of Dengue virus in the federal capital is nominal as compared to the other cities. He further said that repair/maintenance work on different major roads of Islamabad is underway in phases and completion of Kashmir Highway has reduced the traffic burden on IJ Principal Road and now necessary repair/maintenance of this road will be taken up. the CDA chairman said that CDA is eliminating paper mulberry in phases, which is main cause of pollen allergy in Islamabad and preferring to plant fruit plants and local indigenous species as their growth rate is high. While elaborating the importance of CDA’s weekly bazaars, CDA chairman said that CDA’s weekly bazaars facilitate the residents of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi and CDA has taken effective steps to make the availability of quality edible items at cheaper rates while security cameras have been installed in addition to the deployment of staff in proper uniform as security measures in these bazaars. |
