Rawalpindi Development Authority to build 31-storey tower

Friday, December 27, 2013 - Rawalpindi—Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has decided to build 31-storey tower to overcome its financial problems and bridge its financial deficit. . RDA has finalized its paper work to construct the ever largest multi-storey tower in Rawalpindi. The tower will be constructed at the cost of Rs 5 billions.

Sources said RDA has no source of income; therefore, it was considering different schemes since the last two months to generate income. RDA required plentiful money and land to start these schemes. RDA has wide ranging tract of land of its old offices close to its present office which has paved the way for building multi-storey tower

RDA Director Engineering Muhammad Akram Soban while confirming the completion of paper work of this project that RDA is facing financial hardships as it has no permanent source of income on monthly and annual basis. Not only the paper work on this project has been evolved but also briefing has been given to DCO Rawalpindi on this count, he added. He further told as soon DCO Rawalpindi would accord permission in respect of this project , details of this project would be communicated to provincial government for final approval.
