PC-1 approval revives hopes for early start of uplift work
Islamabad
The approval of PC-1 of the Park Enclave and completion of the boundary wall have revived hopes for early start of the development work at stalled posh housing project. The CDA sources told ‘The News’ that the remaining 1200 kilometers portion of the boundary wall of the Park Enclave, which had been pending for the last over six months, was completed a couple of days back after the CDA authorities managed to reach a settlement with owners of property lying on right of way of the wall. However, the removal of some dwellers who are sitting on land of the Park Enclave is still threatening start of the development work. “The start of work at Park Enclave will be delayed if the civic body fails to develop Kurri Village where the affectees are getting alternate plots, in time,” an official of CDA said. The CDA said the work on the design and layout plan of Kurri Model Village, to ensure compensation to affectees whose lands were acquired for construction of landfill site and Park Enclave, was underway. The decision was taken by CDA high ups during the last board meeting of civic body about one week back. The board directed Directorate of Planning and Design of CDA to prepare the design and layout plan of Kurri Model Village within one week to kick start the development work of the housing scheme. It has been learned that the authority is contemplating to start development activity at Park Enclave. On directives of the chairman, the member engineering is pushing the concerned officials to mobilise machinery within six-week time. The Development Working Party (DWP) approved PC-1 worth Rs2.69 billion for development of the stalled Park Enclave Housing Project. The approval was granted in a DWP meeting, chaired by CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal and attended by board members and officials of the Cabinet Division, Planning Commission and concerned officials of CDA. As per approved PC-1, Rs2.69 billion will be spent on infrastructure development of Park Enclave Housing Project. The infrastructure development will include construction of roads, water supply, sewerage system, drainage system and sewage treatment plant. The PC-1 also includes construction of boundary wall, central gate, installation of security system, electrical and mechanical work and provision of electricity and Sui gas for Park Enclave Housing Project. The approved PC-1 further includes landscaping, construction of small and large parks and bridges for Park Enclave Housing Project. The authority also changed the payment schedule for the allottees last month according to which they could submit the first installment for their plot by February 28, the second installment by April 30, the third installment by June 30, the fourth Installment by August 31, the fifth installment by October 31, and the sixth and last installment by December 31. The allottees had stopped paying the installments of plots after the CDA failed to initiate developmental work at the site. |
