Lahore: 2 days of week reserved for commercial drivers testing, 1 day for women
In a bid to facilitate citizens, two days, Monday and Wednesday, have been reserved for the tests of commercial vehicles.
Women driving test will be taken on Monday instead of Friday while the remaining days have been allocated to test motorcyclists and cars. According to a press release issued here on Friday, Mirza Shakeel Ahmad, Chief Traffic Officer, Lahore, in an inspection visit at driving test centre, said that awareness regarding driving license had been increasing day by day and it was their prior responsibility to manage and facilitate the positive attitude among people. He directed DSP licensing to make better the testing system so that citizens should be facilitated in such a hard weather. distress lights: The Inspector General of the National Highways and Motorway Police, Dr Wasim Kauser, has directed transporters to install distress lights on buses using motorway & national highways. Holding a meeting with all Punjab Transport Bus Association at camp office Lahore on Friday, he directed the transporters to depute armed guard at each bus and equip him with a metal detector. He directed the transporters to direct their company drivers to switch on lights and not use curtains during night journey. He also directed the transporters to ensure that passengers were picked up from fixed stops. The NH&MP and transporters decided to ensure the installment of red lights on the roof of buses so that driver and conductors could use them in case of emergency. It was also decided that medical checkup of the drivers of all the commercial vehicles would be arranged and drivers without fitness certificate would not be allowed to drive on any highway.
