Lahore: The President inaugurated the Information Technology Park at Shaheen Complex

LAHORE: President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday unveiled another series of development projects as part of his endeavor to bring progress and prosperity to the people of the country.

The President inaugurated the Information Technology Park at the Shaheen Complex, set up by the Pakistan Software Export Board. The nine-floor building has optic fibre and VSAT connectivity, video conference facility and backup generators. The projects are aimed at increasing countryís software exports and earn huge foreign exchange.

President Zardari also inaugurated the 80-km long Khanewal-Cheechawatni double track to improve the efficency of Pakistan Railways and help in swift movement of people and cargo.

In addition, the president inaugurated the Prem Nagar dry port near Riawind on Lahore-Sahiwal section. The dry port is designed to facilitate the business community and increase freight movement. The project, based on Build Own and Transfer basis, has been completed by the Pakistan Railways, Qasim International Container Terminal and Premier Mercantile Services (Pvt) Ltd.
