Efforts underway to increase int’l flights from Sialkot International Airport (SIA).

KARACHI: Efforts are being made to increase direct international flights from Sialkot International Airport (SIA). PIA Managing Director Captain Mohammad Aijaz Haroon assured the chairman and management of SIA in this regard on Wednesday. Captain Haroon and SIA Chairman Toheed Akhtar signed an MoU. PIA would be co-branding the city of Sialkot, birthplace of Allama Iqbal with the national flag carrier. Detailed meeting was also held between PIA’s marketing team and SIA representatives to explore the possibilities for enhancement of flights from Sialkot. PIA indicated delegates that it would soon be launching flights from Sialkot for Sharjah and Jeddah. Moreover, connections will be provided to passengers travelling to/from Sialkot on PIA flights to London. staff report
