Punjab govt to start Sasti Daal scheme

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has decided to start a Sasti Daal Scheme after the hike in the prices of lentils, a private TV channel reported on Friday.

CM’s Media Coordinator Khawaja Imran Nazir said the decision was made in a meeting of the Sasti Roti Scheme. He added that the chief minister started Sasti Roti Scheme for poor people, and “now a decision to provide lentils on cheaper prices has been made”. Nazir said the Punjab government would import lentils, and “provide it to the poor under the Sasti Daal Scheme”.
