'Explore Pakistan' drive: Microsoft announces first netbook winner

KARACHI (May 15 2010): Microsoft has announced the first netbook winner of their 'Explore Pakistan' campaign. The three-month campaign that started from March 23 revolves around a quiz accessible on http://www.explorepakistan.com.pk through their latest web browser, Internet Explorer 8.

The campaign aims at increasing knowledge about Pakistan amongst the people through trivia on the history and entertainment of the country. Apart from the grand prize of a netbook, around 350 winners have won various other prizes like T-shirts, key-pouches and CDs.

Tabish Sabah, Enterprise Partner Group Manager, Microsoft Pakistan, presented the grand prize for the first month, a netbook, to Shuah Ullah - a resident of Saddar, Karachi, at the Explore Pakistan Prize Distribution Ceremony held at Microsoft office in Karachi.

Speaking at the ceremony, Tabish Sabah said: "As corporate citizens, we have a huge responsibility to provide such platforms where our youth can build their capacity, talent and skills and be passionate that the future holds a lot for them. To connect to these youth, the best platforms are those which are a blend of modern technology, knowledge and passion, like the Explore Pakistan contest".-PR
