SC bans entry of police in polling station
LAHORE (APP): Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan, Justice (Retd) Hamid Ali Mirza has banned the entry of police in polling stations and polling booths during the by-election in NA-68, NA-100 and NA-155 on August 5 unless and until required by the Presiding Officer concerned. Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab Akhtar Hussain Sabir told APP here Wednesday evening that police was always deployed to maintain law and order outside the polling stations in connection with holding fair, free and transparent polling and they were never allowed to enter the premises of the polling stations and polling booths unless and until required by the Presiding Officers concerned only.
