Corps Commanders reviews security situation, regional peace
RAWALPINDI: A Special Corps Commanders Conference held here at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Sunday reviewed the prevailing security situation in the country and the regional peace.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani chaired the meeting which was attended by all Corps Commanders and Principal Staff Officers. According to the sources, the meeting expressed its concern about the negative statements emanating from US and also rejected all the allegations. The meeting reiterated that Pakistan armed forces were committed to achieve enduring peace in the region. It may be mentioned here that the extraordinary meeting of the corps commanders came against the backdrop of US allegations that Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) supports the Haqqani militant group. |
