Aukaf Department Fails To Deal With Land Mafia

Lahore – Aukaf Department seems to be powerless against the land grabbers. Action plan to recover over Rs. 100 billion for the properties leased and rented through political involvements has been crashed.

Recoveries regarding 904 residential and commercial units on agricultural land are more likely to be a dream. According to the action plan, measures were supposed to be taken to recover obligatory charges and also for the implementation of regulations. A committee was also formed for the realization of action plan.

One month has passed and no action could be taken in this regard. State Director of Aukaf Department, Tariq Zaman Khan, said that nothing has been done yet to cater to the issue. Provincial Minister, Aukaf Department has ordained zonal administrators to present their reports before State Director
