Residents of Kohistan to Take up Issues Regarding Dasu Dam Project

The elders of almost all tribes of Kohistan gathered to discuss the issues concerning Dasu Dam hydro power project. They said that they will not allow anyone to block Karakoram Highway in future.

Rest the issue of price of land, being acquired for Dasu Dam and appointment of employees would be resolved through negotiations. The jirga through its unanimous decree also warned the individuals of area against raising the voice about any issue related to Dasu Dam, especially the prices of land being acquired for the dam.

A spokesperson of the tribes said that every kind of issue will be taken up on the platform of the jirga. Now jirga will devise a plan of action for future and that will be considered a voice of the entire Kohistan.

Individuals will not be allowed to speak on any such matter and if anyone speaks, he will be responsible for the outcome. Kohistani people are not against the progress and prosperity of the country but they want that local people should be recruited in Dasu Dam project and not the outsiders.
