Businesses suffer due to load shedding
LAHORE: Most businessmen in the city said their businesses had been adversely affected by load shedding in the evening and at nights. “In the summer, people prefer going outdoors at nights, but they don’t shop in the dark,” said Faisal Ali, who owns a cloth shop at Model Town Link Road. Ismail Sheikh, another shopkeeper, said that generators had become expensive and the fuel the generator consumed cost more than the profit he earned while the generator was running. Owners of small restaurant said their businesses were suffering because they could not run air conditioners on UPS or generators. “People come here to have dinner and have a good time, but they cannot enjoy if the AC is turned off,” a restaurant manager said, adding that load shedding had brought his business down by 20 percent. staff report http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp...008_pg13_4 |
