Industrialists to protest against four-day gas load shedding

LAHORE: All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association, Ferozepur Road Industrial Association, Shahdra Industrial Association, Lahore Township Industrial Association, Sheikhupura Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) have decided to launch a series of protests from Tuesday against the four day gas load shedding.
According to a press release by PIAF, in the first phase a protest would be staged at Shahdra in which industrialists and industrial workers would join the rally. The LCCI former president Mian Anjum Nisar besides Maqsood Ahmad Butt and leaders of PIAF would lead the protest. Mian Anjum Nisar said due to wrong policies of the government and mismanaged affairs, the industry had almost collapsed. Nisar said sword of unemployment was hanging on the heads of industrial workers in the wake of non-availability of gas but the government was playing the role of silent spectator. He said the industrial areas, the hub of production, were presenting a deserted look as a large number of industrial units had stopped production.
