Islamabad: CDA’s drive against encroachments
This refers to a news item published in the ‘City News’ on August 1, 2009, wherein the CDA Municipal Administration director has vowed to eliminate all encroachments by launching a grand anti-encroachment drive in F-7, F-6, G-9 and G-6 markets.
Like all previous grand operations, this too will result in complete failure and nothing will change because the root cause, i.e. the mafia within the CDA, is never taken to task. I have asked several roadside vendors in Aabpara how do they survive and everyone says “by obliging the CDA staff”. Is this news for CDA Municipal Administration Director Mansoor Ali Khan? Aabpara is one of the filthiest markets in the capital. Stinking gutters welcome you the moment you alight from your car. Beggars start chasing you. Shops are filled with third-rate stuff with prices multiplied by three. About the attitude of shopkeepers, the less said the better. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=191400 |
