Rawalpindi: DDWP approves 16 development projects for Rawalpindi division
RAWALPINDI: The Divisional Development Working Party (DDWP) on Saturday approved 16 development projects worth Rs191 million for three districts Rawalpindi, Jhelum and Chakwal.
Commissioner Zahid Saeed presided over the meeting held here at the Commissioner Office. Development Director Noreen Bashir, officials of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and public health departments attended the meeting. The DDWP approved WASA’ s five projects for NA-55 and 54 of Rawalpindi respectively. Under these projects, the WASA would rehabilitate six tube-wells in Khayaban-e-Sir Syed near Executive District Officer (EDO) Health Office, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed Sector II, Khayaban-e-Sir Syed Sector IV, Union Council number 1 near Bhoosa Godown, Union Council number 3 near Government Girls College Hazara Colony and Union Council Number 45 near Tipu Road. The DDWP also gave a go ahead to the WASA’ s project to construct overhead water reservoirs in different parts of the constituencies besides changing rusty water and sewerage lines. It finalised the project to lay down new water and sewerage lines in PP-9 and PP-13 in Rawalpindi Cantonment. Under the project, new water supply and sewerage lines would be laid down in Lalkurti, Riazabad Chaklala Cantonment, Mubarik Lane, Kotha Khurd, Walayat Colony and some other areas.
