Lyari Development News :Rs1.13bn for Hawkesbay road,

KARACHI, Jan 5: The Sindh chief minister has ordered an immediate release of over Rs1.13 billion for carrying out different development projects in Hawkesbay, the Lyari Development Authority director-general said here on Thursday.

Presiding over a meeting of the LDA`s senior officers, the authority`s DG Agha Maqsood Abbas said the amount approved by Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah would be exclusively utilised for widening the existing eight-kilometre-long Hawkesbay road, laying a storm-water drain along the road, construction of nine RCC culverts, installation of 290 solar energy lights and plantation in the central median of the road.

He told the officials to expedite work on the proposed development projects so that people visiting and living in and around Hawkesbay, Sandspit beach and Paradise Point had better road facilities.

He said Hawkesbay road, which is a 48-foot wide dual carriageway, would be turned into a 96-foot wide dual carriageway and each of its tracks would be 48-foot wide.
