RDA to act against illegal constructions

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has decided to initiate action against the owners of illegal constructions and buildings constructed without maps. Building inspectors of such areas will also be taken to task for allowing the construction of the illegal structures. Town Planning and Building Control Director Jamshed Aftab has set up a separate cell under the directives of the RDA director general. This cell will undertake survey of all housing societies operating under the control of the RDA and review commercial and residential constructions. Notices will be issued to the owners of the building, which have been built in violation of the approved maps, or without maps. Penalties will be imposed on the owners in accordance with the regularisation of the constructions. online
