CDA extends D12, E12 applications’ deadline by 3 days
ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has extended the deadline for application forms’ submission for Sectors D12 and E12 until October 4. The previous date was October 1 (Tuesday). The decision has been taken due to two holidays in September (28 and 29) and technical intricacies in processing bank pay orders by the general public, especially involving more than one bank. The CDA spokesman, while dispelling the impression regarding lack of interest by the general public in balloting of D12 and E12, said 29,621 brochures were downloaded from the CDA’s website. He said more than 2,000 application forms were purchased from banks from different cities of Pakistan as well as from abroad. He said the prevailing law and order situation in the country and the earthquake in Balochistan had diverted the attention of the public and could affect the sale of plots. He said D12 and E12 were the most beautiful sectors in Islamabad. With scenic beauty and being located at the foothills of the Margalla Hills, these sectors generated interest in the public, he added. He said the sectors provided wider roads and spacious green areas as well as other public amenities in the form of parks, libraries, cricket and football grounds. Meanwhile, the Islamabad District Bar Association (IDBA) has issued a 24-hour notice to demolish the illegally-built lawyers’ chambers near client sheds. Declaring the chambers illegal, the IDBA has directed the lawyers concerned to demolish these chambers within 24 hours, otherwise the bar will have them demolished and file a reference against the lawyers in the Punjab Bar Council. In an IDBA general body meeting held on Wednesday, the bar imposed restriction on new constructions in the F8 courts. It was also decided in the meeting that the chambers constructed without the permission of the bar would be declared illegal |
