PM forms committee to monitor mega projects in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has constituted a committee consisting of parliamentarians to review mega development projects and tasked them with pointing out corruption and embezzlement under the previous government. The review committee, led by Hamza Shahbaz, and consisting of Senator Mushahidullah Khan, Minister of State Jam Kamal and MNAs, including Captain® Safdar and Jafar Iqbal, would submit its monthly report to the PM. The committee has started its function. According to reports, the mega uplift projects in far flung areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA would be reviewed in the first phase. Reports said that the committee has been formed after it came to the knowledge of the prime minister that millions of rupees were released for 49 potable water supply projects in KP and FATA but no physical work was done on the projects. |
